Cops have been caught before using excessive violence in unnecessary situations, but this one takes the cake. A 15 year old student, who is in the school’s special education program, was berated by a pair of cops for having his shirt untucked. For whatever reason the cops thought “necessary”, they began beating the young man over the errant shirt waist.
“The officer was in his face because he didn’t have his shirt tucked in,” Pitts’ attorney told CBS 2’s Davis Savini. “That’s the officer put in that school to protect these kids, and instead of doing that, this officer is literally assaulting this kid.”(Huffington Post)
Nothing justifies this behaviour. Even if the teen had been using foul language directed at the cops, this wouldn’t justify beating him. These policemen were in place to help protect these children, not harm them! Be the better man, for goodness’ sake. And on top of it, the kid was special needs. Way to be insensitive, jerks.
