A couple years ago there was trouble on the horizon for the big banking company of Wachovia. It seems they were allowing themselves to cater to less-than-savory customers.

A well-known local upholstery business was ordered to pay more than $100,000 in fines Monday after pleading no contest to trying to charge an elderly customer more than $62,000 for drapes that cost them $2,250 to purchase and install.

AIG Jerk Pays $15 Mill

Every now and then, executive jerks are held accountable and forced to pay for their mistakes.
Former CEO of insurance giant AIG will have to pay to $15 million to settle charges with the SEC, CNNMoney reports. Hank Greenberg’s been accused of inflating earnings at his headline-attracting company and the SEC sued him for accounting fraud. [...]

We write a lot about scandals that rock corporations and the Executive Jerks that profit from shady decisions. What we don’t always hear about though, are the countless stories of employees and associates who didn’t do anything wrong but get dogged with rumors of wrongdoing for years.

Sometimes you don’t have to be an individual in order to be a top executive jerk. Such is the case in North Carolina, where big ISP providers are trying to keep internet costs high. They’re avoiding cheaper options and keeping “high” overhead in order to pass the charges along to the customers. What jerks!
